BZ Sport Cycles launched custom hand-built Birdy wheels in Singapore in 2019. We offer a wide selection of Carbon and Alloy wheelsets for Birdy bikes, available in both 18-inch and 20-inch sizes.

Rim Selection

We offer 3 types of BZ Rims: the BZ REVOpro Carbon Rim, BZ REVO Carbon Rim, and BZ Alloy Rim.

BZ Carbon Wheels – REVOpro
The BZ REVOpro Carbon Rim features a sinusoidal rim design, available only in 20-inch. This unique rim design allows us to reinforce the mating with the spoke for enhanced durability.

BZ Carbon Wheels – REVO
The BZ REVO Carbon Rim is designed with a conventional aerodynamic shape, available in both 18-inch and 20-inch sizes. The 38mm rim depth is one of the optimal profiles for small wheels, offering a balance of performance and aerodynamics.

BZ Alloy Wheels
The BZ Alloy Rim features a conventional alloy rim design, available in both 18-inch and 20-inch sizes. In addition to the standard black and silver rims, we offer a selection of vibrant colours for the alloy rims.

In terms of weight, the BZ REVOpro Rim is the lightest, while the BZ Alloy Rim is slightly heavier. However, the total weight of the wheelset is still lighter than the stock wheelset.

Hub Selection

We offer a range of high-quality hubs from well-known manufacturers in the industry, such as DT Swiss (Switzerland), Onyx Racing Products (USA), Ridea (Taiwan), and more.

In addition, we have designed and developed our own in-house BZ hubs for the Birdy bike, specifically the BZ BD01/BD02 models. The BZ BD01/BD02 hubs have been a top choice for customers since we started building Birdy wheels in 2019. These hubs are fully CNC-machined in Taiwan and are specially designed for small wheels. The flange spacing, tension balance, and bracing angle are carefully optimized to ensure durability and long-lasting performance, helping to prevent the wheel from becoming untrue over time.

Spoke Selection

We source our spokes from top-tier manufacturers known for their precision and durability, including Sapim Spokes (Belgium), DT Swiss Spokes (Switzerland), and Pillar Spokes (Taiwan).

These reputable brands are recognized for producing spokes that offer exceptional strength, stability, and performance, ensuring that your Birdy wheels are built to last and perform at their best.

Nipple Selection

We use both brass and alloy nipples for building Birdy wheels, depending on rider preferences.

Brass nipples are more durable and corrosion-resistant but heavier, while alloy nipples are lighter and available in a variety of colours. We select the appropriate type based on the rider’s needs for durability, weight, and style.
